We focus on Captain WM. Swain who was tragically pulled overboard due to a tethered line and drowned in the depths below on May 19th, 1844 at just 49 years old. Though Captain WM. Swain’s body was never recovered, his fate serves as a reminder to all of us just how perilous whaling was and the sacrifices that came along with it.
